Starting next year, horses participating in kok-boru tournaments will be marked with electronic chips. This directive was given by the president of the federation, Ramis Zhunusaliev, at the regular meeting of the federation’s board on September 18. According to him, until now, horses participating in official games were registered based on photographs and color, but now the time has come to move to electronic registration.
— For example, on the way to the World Nomad Games in Astana, we already microchipped the horses, and in addition, during the demonstration games in China, we also witnessed that the participating teams’ horses were microchipped. We also need to switch to modern standards, — said Zhunusaliev.
The president of the federation also added that negotiations will be held with specialized medical facilities to ensure that players undergo medical examinations.
— Currently, players of the teams participating in the tournament go to different hospitals and bring certificates confirming that they passed a medical check-up. But these steps need to be systematized, and all kok-boru players must be required to obtain a health certificate from a single medical institution, — he noted.
As a result, the participants of the board meeting supported Ramis Zhunusaliev’s initiative, agreeing that first of all, it is necessary to make horse microchipping mandatory.
