In the Turkish city of Antalya, a meeting was held between the President of the Kok-Boru Federation of Kyrgyzstan, Ramis Dzhunusaliev, and the head of the Federation of Traditional Equestrian Games of Turkey, Zubeyir Bekiroglu.
The parties highly appreciated the fact that the first Kokbor Championship was held in Taikazan in November 2023 in Turkey. 4 teams took part in the first Turkish Championship. The parties agreed on further cooperation as these trends are moving in a good direction.
Zubeir Bekiroglu noted that the sport of kok-boru is in many ways similar to the sport of Jirit in Turkey, and called on Kyrgyzstan to take part in the upcoming tournaments. In turn, Ramis Dzhunusaliev noted that Kyrgyzstan is open to such cooperation and is ready to contribute to the development of Jirit at the global level.
Cirit is an ancient Turkish game in which wrestlers strive to score more points by throwing javelins on horseback.
